wake up neighborhood

so we went to a gas station.. and picked up 96 sparklers trying to make a big fountain. but on the way back casey was out to eat so me steve and mike stopped by his car and tied a lot of string bombs through out it. he came back when we were still in the car so he found a few, but m any were left untouched. they will be popped in the upcoming days. so back to the sparklers, we duct taped them and stuffed them down a pipe. and this is the result

so off roading tonight i almost broke the drives door clear off. got out for a second to do a tree check and apparently missed when i put it in park. it was in reverse, truck started rolling backwards with my door open and a tree right in front of my door. it bent the door straight out perpendicular to the truck but somehow it didnt break anything. oh well i never argued with luck

wow, steve's truck made it to 150,000 miles. that's surprising. he prolly shoulda let it go a long time ago. oh well, just gave us a reason to blow stuff up. we've been staging a firework construction facility in our basement and all is going well. We've been constructing m80s, and random masses of powder fountain like things. we also made a 4 layer cake for the trucks birthday party. pictures and videos here.

BOOM

So today me mike and derrick went to PA to pick up some fireworks because of course, the good ones aren't legal here. So the trip there was quick since we weren't worried about getting pulled over, but on the way back we were about an hour and a half slower, since the car was packed with fireworks. Also this makes no sense at all. The store was in PA but it had a sign saying PA residents aren't allowed in the store. There was also signs inside saying transporting fireworks over the new york or new jersey border is illegal. So what are you supposed to do with them? Oh well, we smuggled them. There's a picture of all of them stacked, minus derricks though. We decided to test a few out tonight too. The hydro crackers seem to be the group favorite. They are what they sound like. You light them and then throw them in water. They made a cool sound when we threw them in a bucket. Then we tied one to an egg and dropped it into the bucket, only to find the egg of course blew up. We also put one in an apple, and in a water bottle and blew both of those up. We experimented with some bottle rockets, and smoke bombs too. We also had a strip of 200 firecrackers which we lit off. Those were pretty impressive. Also we tied a lot of those pull popper things to casey's stuff, and the door. And if you're reading this casey, they prolly already went off a few times. So more firework fun to come over the next few weeks.

welcome to the zoo...

So today, our mom found a box turtle in the middle of the road while on a bike road, and of course she brought it home just for us. So now we have a nice little petting zoo. We put the turtle in the broken 40 gallon tank right next to the skink. We need to pick up another heat lamp now too. Here's some pictures. Now we just need a bird and snake and it'll be a real petting zoo. Maybe Casey can get the cow from Indian Rock or something too.

That's a good kitty

So last night we went to mike's lake house and had some fun. We went fishing. Only it consisted of bathing suits and nets. It was also dark so we had some waterproof flashlights, so we were somewhat able to see. It started off slow, just catching muscles to put in the tank, and then eventually mike caught a sunfish in the net. Shortly after he followed up with another sunfish. We put them in a bucket even though we weren't planning on keeping them. We were hunting for larger fish. We decided to visit the other side of the dock, and about 5 minutes later mike is screaming that he has a catfish under his net. So we all go over there, and what do you know. Mike caught a big catfish with a net. We were unable to catch a catfish all summer so far with poles, but we caught it with a net. A little later I was able to catch a sunfish too, and then we were all too cold. We played some cards and went to bed. This morning we brought the catfish home, and to our surprise, it is now the largest fish in the tank. It is also the ugliest.

So cool.

So today we found the best deal of the summer I'd like to say.. On craig's List, there was an ad for a free blue tounge skink, and everything needed for it. So of course we decided to go get it even though it was in Enfield. Before this though, we finished cookin our bloomin onions. They didn't come out as planned. We also received the 1000 crickets we ordered, and put them in the 10 gallon tank for storage. Fish are so happy now.

Bass(look closely, there's another fish in its mouth.

So since last post we got a 25-30 gallon fish tank from Mr. Brewer, and we moved everything into there. It's so cool. We also went night fishing again, and crayfish fishing. We caught around 20 crayfish and dumped them into the tank. Also we bought some minnows, and the bass ate a lot of them, and kept some in his mouth for later (as seen in the up close picture). We also attempted to make bloomin onions with Mike Young.

Wolcott Style Drive-By

(NOTE: This is a draft of a post I never finished and am publishing now. It is from Friday, June 1st.)

Friday morning I went in to work as usual. Ryan and Steve went to visit Mr. Brewer and teach some high school kids about physics. They amazed and impressed with our uranium sample and uranium enriched marbles. They also built a hover craft from scratch. Mr. Brewer gave them a 30 gallon tank in glowing admiration and appreciation for their physics mastery.

The fish were very happy. All except the two perch, who both died. Ha....... Great news though, the bass ate after a couple of hours in the big tank. Looks like he's going to survive. He's the first fish other than the sunfish that we got to eat. Still no crickets yet. We ordered a 1000 a while ago but they haven't come in yet. Hoping for Monday. In other news the 40 gallon tank leaks like a waterfall. So we've given up on it for holding water. We are currently looking for a super cool reptile to put in it.

Friday night we went to Mitch's house for a campfire. We cooked the fish we caught on Wenesday and some steak. Also made a couple rounds of smoothies including a Rogan Oreo special. (way better then an Eskimo Churchill; even Eskimo's agree) After a while sitting around the fire we went for a cruise on Mitch's boat. Steve did "Whadat an chu" in the middle of the lake. Pretty embarassing/funny. When we got to the end of the lake with the bridge we saw some hoodlums smoking and generally making mischief on the bridge. These weren't normal hoodlums, these were Wolcott hoodlums (very mysterious and dangerous). It was very much like an alien encounter. We cruised up and tried to communicate with them. We then shined our lights at them, again not much response. Then Mitch being the humanitarian he is thought that he would give the poor souls a soda. So he hucked a Barqs at them. The Wolcott hoodlums reacted violently and threw rocks and shouted something threatening but hilarious. So we did what any normal group of people would do. We packed into Steve's truck and did a Wolcott Style Drive-By (that's with fireworks). It was super funny. As soon as they saw the firework fuse they started booking like it was a fricken bomb. Oh Wolcott, so full oh hilariously exploitable hicks.
