Steve's a Mass Murderer

So after last night's post Mike Pollack decided to come over and he just had to see the fish. So of course this led to an impromptu trip at 10pm to Bantam Lake to pick up some fireworks and fish for catfish. Mike, Ryan, Steph and I all piled into Mike's car and after futilely trying to get his headlight to work by hitting it we headed off to Bantam Lake with high beams on the entire drive. We picked up the fireworks and fished a little. I got a couple of bites but only hooked one thing, a fresh water clam. I didn't hook it actually, it was latched on to my hook. Must have been a one in a million cast. We stopped and visited with Buddha on the way back.

This morning I woke up early on my supposed day off to do what else but work, no less at Barnes teaching stupid Webelos about nature. Afterwards I filled in a lake, mowed the forest, and built a fence around Hartford county. These things need to be done.

After work I headed home and Steve came over. Ryan and Steve fixed the leaking tank while I looked up the best times for fishing today on my GPS. So we left to go fishing at Indian Lake at 2pm and it eventually turned into a big affair. Steve, Ryan, Steph, Heather, Jim and I all fished there. We caught a total of 8 fish, all large mouth bass. Steve decided we needed to keep them all. So that brought our total fish population up to 14. One problem; we had 15 gallons of water to put them in. Not good. Ya see Steve didn't want to get another air pump, that's a bad Steve, you can't do that Steve. So Ryan and I have put them in emergency overpopulation holding tanks. Basically 20 gallon plastic tubs. So far three of the bigger bass have died and been filleted. A lot of the others aren't looking to good, including the sunfish. I'm thinking we should start a fish sticks company. Steve I think you should lay low for a while, PETA's been asking around about you. Hopefully we have fish in the morning. I'll check again tomorrow at 7:30 when I wake up to GO TO WORK ON A SUNDAY.
